There are some exciting changes happening at Camp!
Construction has begun on the new Dining Hall! The new Dining Hall will be located the left of the existing dining hall and is projected to open in 2018. Sheffer Dining Hall will remain as it is and be used for banquets and meeting space.
Impact on groups:
The Georgia Power Building and the Picnic Pavilion have been demolished. We still have basketball goals near the tennis courts.
The road is closed in front of Mobley Hall and will be closed permanently. Parking has been reduced. There will be a cul de sac in front of Mobley.
The primary entrance into Newton County Conference Room is inside the construction zone, so groups must use the Brown Center entrance. When possible we can allow groups to load/unload at the primary entrance then move their vehicle. At some point during construction the Newton County Conference Room will be renovated as well.
The primary entrance into the Infirmary is inside the construction zone. The cabin is still accessible by the back door, but access is less convenient. When possible we can allow groups to load/unload at the primary entrance then move their vehicle.
We ask that our groups be patient during this time period. There will be construction traffic and some inconveniences, but we will work hard to minimize the impact on your event. The safety of your campers is of primary importance.
The Activity Center has been completed, which is located on the lower field where the high ropes course sits. This is a large multi-use building that opened in March 2017. The High Ropes Course has been closed during construction but is now reopened.
We think you will be pleased with the results of these two great camp improvements!
